Born on September 5, 1992, Aamir Khan is a 31-year-old IAS officer. After excelling in his schooling, he aced numerous engineering entrance exams, gaining admission to IIT Mandi for Electrical Engineering. It was during this time, inspired by UPSC topper Shah Faisal, that he decided to pursue the IAS exam.

Hailing from Anantnag, Kashmir, Athar Aamir comes from a Sunni Muslim family.

His father, Mohammad Shafi Khan, is a teacher, and his mother is a homemaker. He has one younger brother and two younger sisters. A close-knit family has been a source of constant support throughout his life.

Following his successful IAS exam in 2016, he married Tina Dabi on March 20, 2018 (court marriage), followed by religious ceremonies on April 7, 2018. Their marriage concluded in divorce in August 2021. Subsequently, he married Dr. Mehreen Qazi. In June 2024, they welcomed their son, Ehaan Khan.

Career

Athar’s brilliance was evident from a young age, including a “Best Young Scientist” award. While pursuing his B.Tech, he became determined to pursue the IAS. He cleared the Railways exam in 2014 but opted for the IAS. In 2016, he secured the 2nd rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination in his first attempt.
