Aditya Rawal was born on Tuesday, September 28, 1993, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He received his education at Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai, and later pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree at H. R. College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai. His passion for performing arts led him to complete a six-month course in Devised Theatre at the London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA), England. He further honed his skills by graduating with an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, New York.

Career
After graduation, Aditya’s talent for writing shone through. He penned the historical play, The Queen, produced by Theatre for the New City in New York. He also wrote a short Chinese film, The Mailbox, which was a semi-finalist at the NBCU Short Film Festival. His impressive work led to screenwriting opportunities in India and the US, with his short films showcased at numerous international festivals. Beyond film, Aditya co-authored two storybooks on Child Rights and produced/directed the documentary, Drama-in-Education: Taking Gandhi Out of the Textbook. He even worked as an assistant director on the play, Kishan vs Kanhaiya, an adaptation of the movie OMG – Oh My God!
His acting career began in 2012 with Ferrari Ki Sawaari. He then appeared as a young Gujarati boy in Vikram Kapadia’s Bombay Talkies. In 2019, he landed a leading role opposite Shalini Pandey in Anurag Kashyap’s Baamfaad. His recent success includes winning the Best Male Debut award at the 69th Filmfare Awards for his performance in Faraaz.
