In a touching gesture, Sunil donated his father’s body to the Forensic Department of J K Medical College in Bhopal, fulfilling his father’s wish as stated in his will.

Before this iconic role, he appeared in several TV serials, including “Dada-Dadi Ki Kahaniya” and “Vikram Aur Betaal.” Following Ramayan’s success, he starred in the popular TV series “Param Vir Chakra” (1990) as Second Lieutenant Rama Raghoba Rane.

Interestingly, Sunil Lahri wasn’t the first choice for the role of Lakshman. Ramanand Sagar initially considered Sanjay Jog. However, after auditioning nearly 150 actors, Sunil was ultimately chosen. He later collaborated with his Ramayan co-star, Arun Govil, on a production company. In March 2020, he appeared on “The Kapil Sharma Show” with his Ramayan co-stars, Arun Govil and Deepika Chikhalia.

He has openly shared his initial feelings about the role, expressing that while it initially hindered his Bollywood prospects, he now takes immense pride in his contribution to the legendary show.
