He has five sisters: two biological sisters, Kavitha Vijayakumar and Anitha Vijayakumar, and three half-sisters, Vanitha Vijayakumar (also an actress), Pritha Vijayakumar, and Sridevi Vijayakumar (also an actress).

In 2006, he married Aarathi Mohan, daughter of film producer Dr. N. S. Mohan. They have a son, Arnav Vijay, and a daughter, Purvi.

Career

Arun debuted in the film “Murai Mappillai” in 1995 at the age of 18. While he appeared in numerous films afterward, including Priyam Arimath (1996), Kathirunda Kadhal (1997), Thulli Thirintha Kalam (1998), Pandavar Bhoomi (2001), and Mutham (2002), they didn’t achieve significant box office success. He worked across Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada cinema.

His breakthrough came in 2015 with the role of ‘Victor’ in the Tamil film Yennai Arindhaal, after a 17-year career. This role garnered him critical acclaim and numerous awards. He underwent rigorous training to achieve the perfect physique for the role.

He established his own production company, “In Cinemas Entertainment (ICE),” in 2015. He continued acting, starring in films like Chakravyuha (2016), Kuttram 23 (2017), Thadam (2018), and the multi-starrer Sahoo (2019).
