Born on Thursday, November 29, 1984, in Kherwa village near Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Asheesh Singh is a Sagittarius. He graduated with a B.A. from CSJM University, Kanpur. From a young age, he aspired to make a significant contribution to society. This ambition led him to pursue civil services, ultimately becoming a 2010 batch IAS officer.

Asheesh hails from a Hindu family. His father, a school teacher, was a major source of inspiration and motivation in his pursuit of becoming an IAS officer. He married Katha Kartiki on May 3, 2014, and she has been a steadfast supporter of his endeavors.
Career
As a 2010-batch IAS officer in the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Asheesh’s career has been marked by significant achievements. His roles included CEO, Zila Panchayat in Indore (2016) and Additional Municipal Commissioner of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. In 2018, he took on the crucial role of Municipal Commissioner of the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC).
Upon inspecting Indore, he observed the slow progress of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The initial private agency contract cost a high Rs 475 per cubic meter and only cleared 2 lakh tonnes of garbage in two years.
Asheesh and his team adopted a new strategy. They successfully cleared an astounding 13 lakh tonnes of garbage in just six months, all within a budget of Rs. 10 crores. This involved operating rented machines for 14-15 hours daily.
His dedication extends beyond office hours. He begins his day with early morning city rounds (6:30 AM to 10:30 AM) to monitor the progress of various projects, including the Smart City initiative, AMRUT mission, and PMAY.
Innovative initiatives like “Bartan Bhandar” (free utensil rental for events) and “Jhola Yojna” (promoting Khadi bags) further showcase his commitment to sustainable practices. Dry and wet waste separation, along with the repurposing of plastic waste in road construction, are integral components of his waste management strategy.
