Paayal Kapoor Nair is an Indian TV and film actress, was born in New Delhi, India. She completed her schooling at The Frank Anthony Public School in New Delhi. Her inclination towards drama and theatre was recognized by her cinephile mother, and she actively participated in school plays.
Paayal pursued a Bachelor of Arts in European History at Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi, where she served as the president of the dramatics society. Later, she pursued a part-time mass communication course at YMCA, New Delhi, and began her journey as a professional theatre artist after attending theatre workshops.
In 2014, Paayal studied drama and theatre at Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre, receiving training from eminent figures like Amal Allana and Ranjit Kapoor.

Paayal Kapoor Nair made her television debut in 1996 with the thriller show “Agwaah.” Over the years, she played various roles in TV series like “Meher,” “Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar,” “Chand Chupa Badal Mein,” and more. Her notable appearances include “Anupamaa” (2019) on Star Plus, where she portrayed the role of Parul Sharma.

Her film debut was in the Hindi survival thriller “Jungle” (2000). She has also appeared in movies like “Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar!!” (2000), “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai” (2010), and “Chhapaak” (2020). In 2024, she portrayed the role of Indira Gandhi in the biographical film “Main Atal Hoon.”
