Salome hails from the Bene Israel community. Her parents, Sam Aaron and Ruby Aaron, were pioneering ballroom dancers in India, credited with introducing Samba in the 1940s. She has a brother, Edwin. Their union produced three exceptionally talented sons: Aditya Roy Kapur (actor), Kunaal Roy Kapur (actor & director), and Siddharth Roy Kapur (producer). Career

Salome’s career began in modeling in 1968. Even at the young age of 12, she appeared in a Cadbury advertisement alongside her brother, followed by an Apsara sarees advertisement the next year. Her striking presence and dance skills shone on numerous runways. Achievements included winning a beauty contest in Spain in 1971 and claiming the Miss India title in 1972.

Her modeling portfolio boasts an impressive list of brands, including ITC Wills, Godrej, Cadbury, Tata, Century Mills, Calico, TBZ, Taj Mahal Tea, and numerous textile companies.
