Born on July 14, 1994, in Sitamarhi, Bihar, India, Shivani Bhatia, affectionately known as “Ilu,” displayed a passion for music from a young age. Her first stage performance at just 4 years old foreshadowed her future career. She completed her schooling at Nikhil Shyama DAV Public School in Sitamarhi. A pivotal moment arrived in 2016 when she secured the runner-up position in a Bhojpuri singing competition, propelling her into the spotlight.

Following the enthusiastic reception of her stage performances, Shivani chose to pursue singing professionally. Her distinctive voice graced numerous remixes, including popular tracks like “Dil Ko Tumse Pyar Hua,” “Shagan,” and “Neele Neele Ambar Par.”

Family

Shivani hailed from a modest, lower-middle-class family. She married fellow musician Nikhil Bhatia, and together they had a daughter, Doren Bhatia.

Death

Tragedy struck on January 28, 2019. Around 5:45 am, while traveling to Agra with her husband, their car met with an accident near milestone 88 in the Surir police jurisdiction of Mathura district. The car, an i-20, veered off course and collided with a divider.

Both Shivani and Nikhil were rushed to Niyati Hospital in Mathura. Sadly, Shivani succumbed to her injuries on January 29, 2019, at approximately 4:30 am. Nikhil sustained injuries in the accident.

Shivani’s untimely death left a void in the hearts of her fans and the music industry. Her legacy, however, lives on through her memorable performances and the music she left behind. Her contributions to the Bhojpuri music scene and beyond continue to be celebrated.
