Career
Taba Chake’s musical journey began in 2009 when he joined a Hindi band in Arunachal Pradesh. He remained with the band until 2011, during which time they released two songs, including “Sun Le Meri”.
After the band disbanded, he transitioned to a solo career, performing in clubs in Delhi and Mumbai. He recalls this period with a mix of determination and humor, noting the early challenges of building an audience.
His performances have taken him around the globe, including appearances at prestigious music festivals such as Ragasthan, Ziro Festival of Music, Shine A Light, New Wave Asia, and Songs and Dances of NorthEast. His debut EP, “Bond with Nature,” was released in 2016, followed by his first full-length album, “Bombay Dream,” in 2019.
His music draws inspiration from Nyishi tribal folklore, the natural world, and birds. He sings primarily in Nishi (his native language), Hindi, and English.
